The Shame of A City is a great movie in and of itself. Viewers left theaters stunned, feeling as if someone they trusted had just punched them in the gut and spit on their mother. The DVD is much, much more.
Freed of the constraints of an audience trained to begin fidgeting shortly before 120 minutes expires, Tigre Hill is able to explore much of the backstory to the events his film crew stumbled upon back in 2003. Some of the added features include extensive in-movie commentary provided by Hill and Sam Katz.
Three other bonuses features provide concrete answers to the many doubters who still don't believe they were purposely duped by their elected officials. An interview with FBI agent James Welch, a wiretap recording of an October 10, 2003 conversation between Mayor Street and Ron White and a wiretap recording of an August 25, 2003 conversation between Ron White and Cory Kemp provide irrefutable evidence that will finally silence Philadelphia's apologists.
